Tourism plays a pivotal role in the Mackay Isaac region, not only by driving economic growth but by sharing our unique natural beauty, culture, and experiences with visitors from all corners of the country and the globe and the Mackay Isaac Tourism (MIT) Awards for Excellence Program showcases the outstanding achievements of our region’s tourism operators, individuals and volunteers, that continue to contribute to making the Mackay Isaac region a must-visit destination in Queensland.

Winners and finalists are announced at the industry’s night of nights – the annual Mackay Isaac Tourism Awards Gala Dinner on Friday, 31st October 2025.

- Online Nominations Briefing: Friday, 9 May 2025
- Nominations close: Sunday, 15 June 2025
- Submission Writing Masterclass: Early July 2025
- Submissions close: Friday, 15 August 2025

Steps to enter:

1. Nominate your business: Nominating is a quick and easy process and ensures that you’re in the running to later complete a submission. Nominate via the Quality Tourism Framework online portal.

2. Finalise your business standards: After paying the nomination fee, the Quality Tourism Framework online portal unlocks, allowing you to complete your business or accommodation standards. This step showcases your dedication to high-quality standards and essential business practices.

3. Prepare your submission: Create a timeline for your submission and start early, as the process is extensive and requires careful research. Take advantage of MIT's and QTIC’s various entrant support services and utilise the Online Award Portal to save your submission progress at any time. Don’t forget to download and read the Rules for Entry before completing your submission.

4. Submit your submission: Login to the Online Awards Portal using the details you created when nominating and finalise your submission by the due date. Please download and read the Rules for Entry before completing your submission.
