The Choice Hotels Gold Award serves as a benchmark for excellence within the Choice Hotels network – a testament to the property’s dedication and performance throughout the year. Winners are determined based on a range of rigorous performance metrics, including guest satisfaction, service quality, sustainability initiatives, and operational excellence.

“As a collection of apartments, it’s all about location, location, location, so it helps that we’re by the golden sands of Blacks Beach,” says Co-Owner Cath Uit den Bogaard. “…but it’s also about knowing what our guests’ expectation are and trying to go one step above – for example, we provide a personalised check-in, we check each apartment before the guest arrives and if it’s a hot day, we’ll turn the air con on so the guests are greeted with a cool room. It’s all of those little things that count. We’re in a people business, so we believe it’s the people and their hospitality that really makes the stay.”
