Held in the first week of August, the Woollam Art on Show Awards & Exhibition 2025 is a significant national showcase of excellence and diversity in the Arts in the Mackay Region.

Presented by the Mackay Art Society, Artist Entries open online on 14 April.

Ron McBurnie, a well-known and highly-acclaimed artist, is the chosen judge for 2025.

The Mackay Art Society, a not-for-profit organisation which is run completely by its members, is organising the event for the first time.

With record-breaking entries in 2023 and a strengthened reputation in 2024, the event truly shines as a nationally recognized cultural event.

The four-day showcase aims to promote professionalism in the arts and engage young people in the spirit of competition and excellence.

The unwavering commitment of our major sponsor, Woollam Constructions and 17 other local businesses and individuals, not only brings this prestigious event to life but also nurtures the vibrant artistic heartbeat of our region.

Prize money totals $10,000 and all works are for sale. The Opening Evening, a glitz and glamour event, is to be held Friday, 1 August.

Artists in residence will conduct live demonstrations in multiple
mediums over the duration of the Exhibition.
