Futuristic Technology Welcomes Visitors
It’s only been open a week but already the state-of-the-art Mackay Region Visitor Information Centre has proven a hit with visitors to our region. Visitors and locals alike, have found the futuristic technologies and interactive displays invaluable in inspiring and informing their next Mackay Region adventure.
A favourite amongst visitors has been the interactive touch screen table. Featuring multi-user compatibility, the touch table will enable visitors to find, research and book tours, and accommodation from across the region, all at their fingertips.
General Manager of Mackay Tourism, Tas Webber said the Mackay Region Visitor Information Centre was proving popular.
“With generous car and RV parking, the Mackay Region Visitor Information Centre has functioned well so far in attracting the important northbound drive market.”
“The car park is regularly full of cars, caravans, motorhomes and RV’s, all visitors looking to create memories in The Mackay Region”.
Mr. Webber has also invited locals to visit the new Visitor Information Centre.
“The Mackay Region has so many hidden gems that many locals don’t know about, or haven’t visited in a while”.
“We encourage locals to visit the new Visitor Information Centre and rediscover why we live in one of the best places in the world”.
The Mackay Region Visitor Information Centre is located at the Sarina Field of Dreams Parkland and is open 9am to 5pm, 7 days a week.
