An epic 5 days Self Drive Itinerary which starts and end in Mackay.  The idea, travel to experience an event, then spend a few days exploring the region. This itinerary takes in the best of the coastline, the wetlands, the hinterland, sub tropical rainforest, to the convenient outback. A great deal of this tour is on backroads and dirt and it is recommended for a SUV or 4wd.
