Mechanos is Back, Bigger and Better than Ever in 2018
Mechanos will be back to thrill plane and petrol-head enthusiasts over the skies of Mackay in 2018, following an announcement from event promoters Bright Events.
On 11 August 2018, Mackay Airport will be a buzz with Mechanos promising to wow spectators with aeroplane, automotive and mechanical demonstrations and displays. Mechanos will showcase past icons, cutting edge modern technologies and provide an exciting look into the future of the automotive and aeronautic industries.
Event Promotor Bright Events will be aiming to emulate and build upon the success of the inaugural Mechanos event in 2016, which delivered Mackay a truly unforgettable experience. The highlight from that event was the Aerobatic Stunt Plane Display, the first held in Mackay for over 15 years, performed by Paul Bennet Airshows.
Back again for 2018 will be pilot Paul Bennet, delivering more of his death defying stunts in his Wolf Pitts Pro biplane. This will be sure to awe the estimated 10,000 spectators.
Mechanos will appeal to the whole family, with low ticket prices and great entertainment and activities for both kids and adults, including a sensory circus, jumping castles, food outlets along with many interactive displays.
Mackay Tourism Chair and General Manager of Mackay Airport Rob Porter trusts Bright Events will deliver, in Mechanos, a unique and spectacular event to The Mackay Region. “Mechanos will be a highlight of The Mackay Region’s event calendar and locals, along with visitors from across Queensland and Australia, will come to witness the spectacle”.
“Paul Bennet has thrilled spectators across Australia and along with the showcasing of exciting developments in aviation and automotive technology, this promises to add to The Mackay Regions many hero experiences and cement the region as a premier events destination”. Mr Porter said.
