Visitor Information Centre Innovation Recognised by State Industry Body
The Mackay Region Visitor Information Centre, located in Sarina, continues to establish itself as a leader in innovative information services following the Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) Prize for Innovation in Tourism awards.
LEEDR Dynamic Solutions was recently awarded the QTIC Prize for Innovation in Tourism – Industry Collaborator for developing the software for the interactive touch table in the Mackay Region Visitor Information Centre.
A favourite amongst visitors, the innovative touch screen table features multi-user compatibility, enabling visitors to find, research and book tours, and accommodation from across the region, all at their fingertips.
LEEDR Dynamic Solutions Director of Sales, Dragan Popovic, spoke of the benefits of industry collaboration to the tourism industry and visitors.
“We worked with the Mackay Region Visitor Information Centre on this project – they had the idea and we had the software to achieve that idea. We’d done similar things for other industries, but this was the first time we’d done something like this for a tourism business”.
Mr Popovic continued, “it’s great to be recognised for all the hard work we put in and it’s great to get the exposure within the rest of the tourism industry”.
General Manager of Mackay Tourism, Tas Webber, congratulated LEEDR Dynamic Solutions on their award.
“It was a pleasure to work with LEEDR on the development of the touch table for the new Visitor Information Centre located in Sarina.”
“The touch table is an example of the innovation taking place within the tourism industry, and is a clear sign of the commitment of Mackay Tourism to deliver cutting edge technologies that showcase our region and inspire and inform visitors”.
